The Premier Episode Is In The Can!

Moments ago, we called "That's a wrap" on the premier episode of "Hey, Don't Shoot!". Was it rocky? Yes. Was there tension between the hosts who are polar opposites? Most certainly. Was there drama? Without a doubt. Was it entertaining? That's for you to decide.

I'll be editing the footage and posting it within 24 hours.

We have passed the point of no return amigos!

Premier Episode Taping Today! What's that you say?

We had originally planned to do a second rehearsal today but seeing as we could not think of a reason not to go live, and the fact that we were under the influence of alcohol, we made the decision to make today's taping the PREMIER episode of "Hey Don't Shoot".

Let the chips fall where they may.

The show will be uploaded on all platforms within 24 hours.

Seattle Seahawks - Alternate Team Logo

A graphic designer named Max O'Brien (kudos Max) designed updated logos for all 32 NFL teams. I was extremely impressed by this endeavor as most of them look pretty awesome, including the updated logo he came up with for my team, the Seattle Seahawks.

See all the alternate logos right here - http://fansided.com/2013/09/19/nfl-logos-redesigned-alternate-logos-favorite-team/

And then there's this graphic of the Seahawks logo, which is equally as awesome. I have no idea where it came from though or who designed it.

I affectionately referred to my team as the Seachickens for the longest time but happy days are here again as Russell Wilson has led them to a strong 3-0 start. Things are looking good in the NFC West. You owe it to yourself to attend a game at Century Link Field and take in a Seahawks game. It's the loudest stadium in the NFL (Guiness Record) and it has a great view of downtown Seattle. Come experience the 12th man!

Awesome Cheerleaders. The Sea Gals.

Uber cool Stadium. Century Link Field.

Did I mention the cheerleaders? Gratuitous cheerleader pics never hurt.

The best fans.

My Dream Lens

Garvertron will tell you, I'm cheap. I almost always buy used from eBay. That holds true for lenses and cameras. But even I have my breaking point and though it pains me to open my wallet wide and empty it out, sometimes I just can't resist the temptation, this holds true when it comes to my gun collection and occasionally camera equipment. Although admittedly, it's easier to spend big on my guns than it is my camera gear.

Now when it comes to lenses, there is one fine lens that is tops on my wish list if I were to spend big money. Now I realize that compared to other lenses that are out there, this one isn't all that pricey, relatively speaking, still, for me and my cheap ass, it's on the top end of what I would spend.

It's the Sony 24-70mm f2.8 Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar. I've seen it listed on eBay for anywhere from $1,100 all the way up to $1,549. If you're ready to plunk down $3,750 you can get it with a used Sony A99 (an excellent price).

Maybe someday I will be in possession of this beauty, until then, I'll just keep on dreaming...

HeyDontShoot.com Currently in Beta

24 September 2013. UPDATE: The web site is now live, however, a few loose ends need to be tied up. The "Contact Us" page needs to be finished and Garvertron has to write his bio. We're also adding a Home button to the navigation menu in case anyone is unable to figure out that the big giant "HEY DON'T SHOOT" logo at the top of each page links right back to the home page.

Also waiting on iTunes to list the podcast. We're getting closer and closer to our premier episode! OMG, it's so exciting, I think I'm going to pee my pants.

Just a quick heads up to announce that the site is nearly complete. It's live but currently under going revisions and beta testing. Should be live and ready to go within 48 hours!

Attention All Gear Heads

Pre-Production is in full swing be sure to catch our premier episode when I review the Canon 60D with 24-105mm lens.

Mena Man reviews the Ownuser battery grip for the Sony A35.

Update: Ownuser now offers an upgraded battery grip package for the Sony Alpha series. It includes a newly designed battery grip, remote control, additional battery holder for using AA batteries, infrared receiver and all cables. All this for only $99 on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/400575073897?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

And here's how it looks on the camera...

First Rehearsal Went Well (Video intro)

Garvertron and I, with the help of Frenchy the Expert and our production assistant Big C, recorded our first full rehearsal and over all I'd say it went well.

My original idea was to make the show 30 minutes long but seeing as the rehearsal went nearly 2 hours, I figured an hour would be more realistic.

We are doing one more rehearsal next weekend to get our audio and video recording method synced, get our show time down to one hour and to work out our on air chemistry.

I'll post up a few screen shots once the video is done rendering.

We are still waiting for the web site design to be finished, but I already had a look at the initial template and it is looking good so far. It looks a lot like the blog design. Clean and simple.

We are waiting on a few more graphic elements for the video production but that shouldn't take too long and will definitely be ready by next week.

Lastly, I have tested out the iTunes feed on my DJ web site http://www.felixg.com and it works great. So, once we are ready to roll with the first episode all media publishing and social media sources will be up and running!

Late October is still our goal for going on the air!

iPhone5S Camera Looks Impressive (when you use 13 of them)

I was pretty impressed at the quality of the new iPhone5S after viewing the YouTube video shot with it at the Burberry fashion show. But then again, it was a professional production which employed a total of 13 iPhone 5S's.

Pre-Production in Full Swing!

We've been busy getting ready for the premier of "Hey, Don't Shoot!". The order has been placed for the web site design and video elements. We've opened our accounts for all attached social media web sites including Twitter, You Tube, Flickr and Facebook. We've acquired all necessary hardware that we think we need to facilitate the podcast; microphones and audio mixer etc.

We'll be recording a full rehearsal next weekend to make sure everything works, after that, we'll only be waiting on the web site design to be completed and we'll be off and running!

It's looking like the premier will happen in late October. Stay tuned to the blog for more updates!
