We are Vlogging!

Turner and I have started a vlog (video blog) in addition to our regular Hey Don't Shoot Episodes. The vlog will allow us to upload videos with more frequency as the updates will be more like video journals that lack the production value of our full episodes. As you may or may not be aware, video editing is extremely time consuming. The vlog updates are just quick, no frills video journal updates.

We've already posted the first two. I did one to show you the cameras I shoot with...

And Turner did one about our fun day of shooting near the DMZ here in Korea.

Episode 5 Now Posted!

Hey Don't Shoot Episode 5 - Film Photography Part 1 is now posted.

Turner and I have started shooting with film cameras quite a bit and we wanted to share with you a few tips and let you follow along as we get our feet wet with the ins and outs of shooting with film.

We are shooting with 35mm and 120 (medium format) cameras including the Minolta X-700 and Canon AE-1 which are both 35mm and the Hasselblad 503CW and Mamiya 645 Super for medium format.

In this episode we give you a quick tutorial on how to load film into the Hasselblad and Mamiya plus we take you on a photo walk to shoot with the Minolta and the Mamiya.

Stay tuned for Episode 6 - Film Photography Part 2 where we give you a personal tour of the Chongmuro camera district in Seoul and we shoot with the Hasselblad. Plus you won't want to miss Felix and Turner's confessional!

Making Photography Friends

Turner and I met a couple of fellow photographers while we were up at Seoul Tower shooting Episode 6. These two guys were visiting from Taiwan. I noticed one was shooting with a Sony, I think it was the NEX-7, of course, I complimented him on his choice of cameras.

We ran into them again where we had set up to shoot and they wanted to take a photo with us!

Episode 3 and 4 Now Posted!

You'll have to forgive us, it's been a little while since our last Episode however, keep in mind that we are full-time active-duty soldiers stationed near the Korean DMZ. Aside from that, Turner is a family man with a beautiful 8 month old baby boy, Brendan. You may see him from time to time in our videos.

The topic of Episodes 3 and 4 is Landscape Photography. In Episode 3, we head out to Incheon, South Korea to capture some beautiful sunset photos at the beach. Turner puts his new, Lee Big Stopper to good use in capturing some really great images. He also snapped a few without the Big Stopper as well.

We head to the mountains in Episode 4 for an attempt at some Landscape Photography of the rocky, jagged peaks of Mount Dobangsan, the 3rd highest peak in South Korea. Come along on a hiking adventure as Turner and I make the challenging ascent.

Episode 5 is already in the works! Turner and I will give you a personal tour of Chungmuro, which is a famous camera shopping district in the heart of Seoul. We'll show you our favorite shops and photo labs. But that's not all, Episode 5 will also feature Turner and I shooting with a variety of film cameras including two medium format cameras, the Mamiya 645 Super and the Hasselblad 503CW. We'll also be shooting with a couple of 35mm film cameras, the Canon AE-1 and the Minolta X-700.

Thanks for watching and we wish you all HAPPY SHOOTING!

Be sure to tune in!
